Way back in early October I promised to start sharing the images from my vast photo collection. Well I posted two in two days and then a month passed and I hadn't had a chance to post anything.
I wrestled with where to start. When you have a big collection it can be somewhat overwhelming. After much debate I decided to start at the beginning.
Seemed like a simple and logical spot right?
Anyway, I pulled the first photo from the box and here we are. A portrait of actor Bela Lugosi in his most famous role as Dracula (1931)(Universal).
I have always loved this image. The composition is simple but the photographer was able to capture the powerful demeanor of the vampire. The black and white contrast also adds a sense of foreboding. Most of Dracula is cast in darkness, just like how the creature's soul swims in darkness.
A great image!
