IDW and Toho International, Inc. Sign Multi-Year GODZILLA Publishing & Gaming Licensing Deal

I'm surprised that I missed this ...

From IDW Publishing

IDW and Toho International, Inc. are proud to announce a multi-year publishing program that will bring Godzilla and dozens of monsters from the Godzilla live action films to a wide selection of publications and merchandise.

Beginning in spring 2021, Godzilla, Rodan, Mothra, King Ghidorah, and dozens of kaiju will stomp their way across IDW’s line of comic books, graphic novels, trade collections, art books, coloring books, journals, tabletop games, and puzzles. Furthering IDW’s company-wide mission to expand the most beloved story worlds across all mediums, the publishing program — available in print and digitally — will represent a comprehensive range of content, delivering city-stomping entertainment to young readers and adult audiences.

“We’re very excited to work with Toho to build a comprehensive array of stories and products that Godzilla fans everywhere can enjoy,” says Nachie Marsham, IDW’s publisher. “Their library of characters are quite literally titans of pop culture, and we can’t wait for people to get their hands on what we’re creating in close partnership with Toho. There will truly be something for everyone, from casual fans to people who live and breathe these amazing creatures.”

“IDW has been such a fantastic partner in bringing Godzilla characters to life through high-quality graphic storytelling, and we’re excited to take our relationship to the next level,” says Lora Cohn, Managing Director, Toho International, Inc. “By expanding beyond comics with wide-ranging books, games and more, we’re sure that our iconic kaiju will leave monstrous marks on these products that consumers across the globe, young and old, will never forget.”

IDW will have worldwide distribution for Toho’s Godzilla comic book, graphic novel, gaming, and merchandise program, with the exception of some parts of Asia.

IDW’s debut Godzilla project of 2021 will be a five-issue miniseries by writer Erik Burnham, artist Dan Schoening, and colorist Luis Antonio Delgado. The comic book will be aimed at middle grade readers and hits stores with its first issue in April.

The new licensing deal builds upon IDW’s prior comic publishing relationship with Toho. In March 2011, IDW launched its Godzilla comic book program with Godzilla: King of the Monsters, generating huge fan and media interest and garnering support from the retailer community with 80 exclusive variant covers. Through 2016, IDW published 10 Godzilla comic book series of varying lengths, collected in a series of trade paperback collections. Godzilla products from IDW will be available everywhere pop culture products are sold, including comic book specialty shops, bookstores, department stores, specialty chain stores, and digital retailers.

Abandoned Louisiana - The Pirate's Cove Water Park / Resort in Iowa

About ten minutes east of the city of Lake Charles are the remains of an abandoned water park . The decaying structures are clearly visible from the busy I-10 freeway and for years drivers have wondered about it's history and why it was left for dead.   The Pirate's Cove Water Park actually has a rather interesting story behind it. A story that has been repeated over and over again, unfortunately, here in Louisiana. It's just another example of how government bureaucracy in this state killed an enterprise before it could ever get off the ground. Construction on the park began in 2008 and it was scheduled to open sometime in 2010. The sprawling complex was envisioned as an oasis from the hot summer heat that would feature luxurious amenities like a 900 foot long lazy river, a giant splash pad for the kids and eventually a five star hotel. The Pirate's Cove would have been an obvious tourist destination that could have brought much needed tax dollars and employment oppo...

The Force in Star Wars | May the 4th Be With You | Miracle Mindset

The Force in the Star Wars universe bears many striking similarities to spiritual concepts found in Christianity. Much like how Christians believe in an all-encompassing, omnipresent God, the Force is described as an energy field created by all living things that surrounds and penetrates living beings and binds the galaxy together. There is a light and dark side to the Force, mirroring the battle between good and evil, angels and demons in Christian theology. The path of the Jedi, who align with the light side of the Force, is one of self-sacrifice, discipline, and overcoming temptation - very much like the Christian walk of faith. The Jedi are guided by the Force just as Christians are led by the Holy Spirit. And in the same way that Jesus' ultimate sacrifice defeated sin and death and offers salvation to mankind, the heroic sacrifices of Jedi like Obi-Wan Kenobi and Luke Skywalker bring hope and turn the tide against the evil Empire. The Star Wars saga is a timeless story of goo...
