Disney Tries To Go Woke By Renaming Boba Fett's Slave 1 Spaceship

You would think that Disney would be tired of pissing off Star Wars fans, but they aren't. It was revealed that Disney was trying to covertly rename Boba Fett's famous spaceship Slave 1 and hoping nobody would notice. Well once again the studio demonstrated that they don't understand  Star Wars or it's fans (with the exception of Rogue One and The Mandalorian). Star Wars fans notice EVERYTHING, even stuff you try to hide. They are tenacious. So when you put out a new Lego model called Boba Fett's Starship only about a million people are going to notice.

Yes, Disney renamed the Slave 1 to Boba Fett's Starship. Now, why would they do that?

Well it does have that offensive term 'Slave' in there. Honestly this crap has to stop! How many nasty emails did the company receive from people who were offended by the name of Boba Fett's ship? That's right ... zero, but as is the case with just about every major company in America, they were scared senseless that they might.

Actually the move had the opposite effect and droves of Star Wars fans and even the actor who originally played Boba Fett ... well, got really pissed off.

You don't want to mess with Star Wars fans when it comes to Boba Fett and his ship!

From Breitbart:

Mark Anthony Austin, who played Boba Fett in the re-issued version of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, tweeted his disappointment in the studio’s request to strike the name of the character’s spaceship — “Slave 1” — off the new LEGO Star Wars toy. “I cannot put into words how much I love this spaceship. It’s like Han has Chewie. I’ve always had Slave1. You cannot change that,” he tweeted Monday. (Austin also worked as a digital graphics artist on the movie.) Jedi News reported Monday that LEGO’s toy version of Boba Fett’s ship won’t be called “Slave 1” after Disney specifically requested a name change. Instead, the ship will be known simply as “Boba Fett’s Starship.” \

Slave 1 first appeared in The Empire Strikes Back in 1980. It later appeared in the 1997 re-issue of A New Hope.

The decision to cancel the spaceship’s name comes shortly after Disney dropped actress Gina Carano from the Star Wars series The Mandalorian after she shared a social media post likening modern cancel culture to Nazi Germany.

The studio has also announced it will overhaul the popular theme park rides Splash Mountain and Jungle Cruise following complaints from left-wing activists that the attractions glorify racism.

What the hell is racist about The Jungle Cruise ride? It's just another case of a minority of people ruining things for the rest of us.

I'm happy that Star Wars fans have enough balls to stand up to this kind of BS. We all need to start stepping up and speaking up when it comes to these issues!

Abandoned Louisiana - The Pirate's Cove Water Park / Resort in Iowa

About ten minutes east of the city of Lake Charles are the remains of an abandoned water park . The decaying structures are clearly visible from the busy I-10 freeway and for years drivers have wondered about it's history and why it was left for dead.   The Pirate's Cove Water Park actually has a rather interesting story behind it. A story that has been repeated over and over again, unfortunately, here in Louisiana. It's just another example of how government bureaucracy in this state killed an enterprise before it could ever get off the ground. Construction on the park began in 2008 and it was scheduled to open sometime in 2010. The sprawling complex was envisioned as an oasis from the hot summer heat that would feature luxurious amenities like a 900 foot long lazy river, a giant splash pad for the kids and eventually a five star hotel. The Pirate's Cove would have been an obvious tourist destination that could have brought much needed tax dollars and employment oppo...

Abandoned Louisiana - The Old Hightower Family Home in Dodson

I have to admit that I have been hanging on to these photos for a couple of months now just looking for the right minute to post them. Back in November I was traveling up to El Dorado, Arkansas and I passed through the small town of Dodson. While driving through town my eyes spotted a very attractive old house up on a hill and I just had to stop and take a few photos of it. I honestly don't know the history of this house, but I'm sure some local will send me message telling me all about it (and someone did see the UPDATE ), and it's not as cool as an abandoned railroad locomotive or old movie house but it really spoke to me. I have to wonder about the people who used to live in it and how it ended up in the state it is now. Anyone can see that it was a beautiful house long ago. What happened? How did such a grand residence end up like this? Those are questions that I can't answer unfortunately.  Unfortunately a site like this isn't all that uncommon here in Louisian...
