Realizing a Gamma Bomb which Thunderball recovered is missing from its casing, the two groups split up to find it for their own purposes: The Defenders to disarm it and prevent it from harming people, and the Wrecking Crew to use it to extort money out of the city of New York. Traveling to Harlem, the Defenders and Power Man get aid from the local children, who inform them where they can find the Wrecking Crew.

Spawn recalls playing a baseball game and breaking his ankle. All he can remember is how beautiful she was and how they made love until the sun came up the next morning. Spawn decides to focus on finding the man who killed him, Chapel. At Youngblood headquarters, Badrock is on guard duty but distracted by video games. When Spawn trips a silent alarms, he finds Chapel along with teammates Diehard and Shaft. Spawn teleports himself and Chapel to Botswana to complete his fight. Terry Fitzgerald finds it hard to fall asleep. Now that two men have harassed him, he knows he's on a watch list which is hard to get on. Yet he can't figure out why they'd be checking into him.

"Linda" breaks Hannibal and Morbius apart and Blade trys to destroy Morbius. Morbius is captured by Stonecold when he uses his time warping power on Hanibal. Hannibal, Blade and Frank argue over whether or not they should destroy Morbius (who is one of "the nine"). Samantha Regent decides to read her letter from the dwarf but is hit by a car before she can; Hannibal and Frank attack Stonecold and Morbius manages to break out of the "perpetual motion wheel"; "Linda" manages to stop the "perpetual motion wheel" but Stonecold gets away; Blade meets with Richie Regent and says he will handle Richie's problem alone.
