Despite what the popular song says, it actually rains in Southern California.
On this early May morning sporadic fog turned into a pleasant drizzle in the northern forest region of the San Bernardino Mountains. It was a peaceful time with little to no human interference to break the serenity. On this morning Seely Creek was brim with running water that made a peaceful sound as it rushed over the rocks. The creek generally flows during both the winter and springs months but come summer it is as dry as the nearby Mojave Desert. That's why our family chose this day to explore the area and enjoy the beauty and calm that the California mountains provide.
