Twice a week I pass by this canopy of trees that cover Tom Mills Ln just highway 61 between St. Francisville and Baton Rouge. This past week I actually decided to stop and take a few pics. Though I really love these shots they really don't capture the true visuals someone would experience in person. The photos really capture the light and shadow of this forest covered section of road. In actuality the area more resembles a dark tunnel with the light at the end.
Sometimes the camera lens will pick up certain things that the human eye does not. Such is the case here. Regardless, these are a handful of images that I really like.
On a side note, I discovered a set of railroad tracks in the brush adjacent to the road. The old tracks were so covered in vegetation that I really couldn't get a good shot of them. I assume that they could have been either old Illinois Central or Kansas City Southern tracks. I'm sure that some local railroad buff will chime in and educate us all about them.
