I have to admit that I am one of those kind of people who spend an incomprehensible amount of time scrolling through my Facebook feed in irrational desperation trying to find some sort of interesting tidbit to stimulate my mind among the countless adds for brain teaser games and rip-off athletic jerseys. It's kinda like looking for a Mensa candidate in a cave full of Yetis, an exercise in futility that only goes to prove that I'm the one with a screw loose.

That being said, today I actually found that proverbial unicorn in a corn field in a post by the RiverRun International Film Festival (that was in my timeline despite the fact that I don't follow their page) featuring a brief film clip of an interview with the late Carrie Fisher in which she describes in the simplest of terms all the elements that film maker George Lucas incorporated into Star Wars and how those individual pieces came together in a way that audiences could connect with.
A lot of these facts were actually discussed in more detail in the 1978 book The Star Wars Album.
Upon looking for an interesting image to go along with this post I managed to stumble upon the rest of the interview that was conducted by the BBC in 1977:

So Fisher put on her famous intergalactic swimwear and hit the beach along with Darth Vader, a Gamorrean Guard and an Ewok to play some volleyball and pose for photos. - READ MORE
Props From A Galaxy Far Far Away
Back a decade ago Lucasfilm packed up many of their beloved props and costumes from the original Star Wars trilogy and exhibited them in venues around the United States as part of the Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination tour. I was lucky enough to catch the exhibit twice in Southern California. The first time I saw it at the California Science Center in Los Angeles it was actually free to public. - READ MORE
