God Wants To Break The Cycle of Hopelessness In Your Life

Romans 4:16-17, NLT2 proves nothing is hopeless.

We are saved and delivered by faith, not works. God is the God who can bring dead things back to life. God turns nobodies into somebodies. God makes something out of nothing.

One of the main reasons for hopelessness is delay. (John 11:1-6, 10-44, ESV)

Delay does not mean denial. Delay often leads to doubt and discouragement. If you are feeling hopeless and discouraged, Jesus knows how you feel and wants to comfort you by both the Holy Spirit and His Word.

One of the main cures for hopelessness is believing what God’s Word says. (John 11:22-25, ESV)

Jesus is personally wanting to encourage you to believe that whatever He says is true and can comfort you, guide you, or remove the hopelessness. Jesus is telling you He will give you hope again. (Psalm 27:13, NKJV)

Have a heavenly or eternal perspective even in the most hopeless situations.

Remind yourself that earth is not your home. Jesus reminds us that this is not the end of life, but only the beginning of life. (John 11:26, ESV)

The devil knows that if he can isolate you form Jesus, you will feel helpless and hopeless longer. (John 11:27-28, ESV) When you are hurting and feel hopeless, Jesus is moved, troubled, and wants to comfort you. (John 11:29-33, ESV)

Jesus wept; He had a physical, spiritual, and emotional connection with Mary and Martha. (John 11:34-36, ESV) You can be the most spiritual person in the world and still have your emotions go up and down. (John 11:37-38, ESV) Jesus wants us to see, believe, and experience the power of His Word. (John 11:39-44, ESV)

If you want to begin a great adventure - you need to take that first step

One very important thing that I forgot to mention was that despite all the financial problems Terri and I had we never stopped tithing. On one occasion we actually tithed all the money we actually had at the time believing in our hearts that God would take care of us ... and He did. We never suffered. We always had food, shelter and the amenities that we needed. - READ MORE

We Could Walk On Water If We Only Had The Courage To Step Out Of The Boat

We Often Times Take The Basic Things In Life For Granted

I hadn't realized I how spoiled I had been all my life. I honestly took everything for granted. You earn a lot of respect for things when you don't have them. In this way God has taught me a lot of humility and the simple fact that even the most basic things in life are truly huge blessings. I now find myself offering up prayers of thanksgiving for these things on a daily basis. - READ MORE

Abandoned Louisiana - The Pirate's Cove Water Park / Resort in Iowa

About ten minutes east of the city of Lake Charles are the remains of an abandoned water park . The decaying structures are clearly visible from the busy I-10 freeway and for years drivers have wondered about it's history and why it was left for dead.   The Pirate's Cove Water Park actually has a rather interesting story behind it. A story that has been repeated over and over again, unfortunately, here in Louisiana. It's just another example of how government bureaucracy in this state killed an enterprise before it could ever get off the ground. Construction on the park began in 2008 and it was scheduled to open sometime in 2010. The sprawling complex was envisioned as an oasis from the hot summer heat that would feature luxurious amenities like a 900 foot long lazy river, a giant splash pad for the kids and eventually a five star hotel. The Pirate's Cove would have been an obvious tourist destination that could have brought much needed tax dollars and employment oppo...

Abandoned Louisiana - The Old Hightower Family Home in Dodson

I have to admit that I have been hanging on to these photos for a couple of months now just looking for the right minute to post them. Back in November I was traveling up to El Dorado, Arkansas and I passed through the small town of Dodson. While driving through town my eyes spotted a very attractive old house up on a hill and I just had to stop and take a few photos of it. I honestly don't know the history of this house, but I'm sure some local will send me message telling me all about it (and someone did see the UPDATE ), and it's not as cool as an abandoned railroad locomotive or old movie house but it really spoke to me. I have to wonder about the people who used to live in it and how it ended up in the state it is now. Anyone can see that it was a beautiful house long ago. What happened? How did such a grand residence end up like this? Those are questions that I can't answer unfortunately.  Unfortunately a site like this isn't all that uncommon here in Louisian...
