While driving to work last week I was forced to pull over by some of the most beautiful scenery that I have ever seen. If you are a fan of photography you have undoubtedly seen my numerous images taken around this location, which was once the town of Meeker, that is just down the old Jefferson Highway from the town of Lecompte. It is one of my favorite places here in Louisiana and I am always inspired by its natural beauty year round. I find the scenery along the old highway and the adjacent bayou with its majestic old trees so peaceful and I always travel through the area when I need to clear my mind.
On this day, the scene was nothing short of spectacular as a heavy fog had moved in ahead of an approaching Winter storm front. I don't want to toot my own horn too much, but I think that these are some of the best photos that I have taken in quite some time.
When I posted these to my Facebook page over the weekend I got a lot of positive responses. I guess that I was able to capture the true magic of the moment in the images that I took that morning.
I hope that these images inspire you like the actual scene inspired me.
