Earlier this week I to drive all the way up to Springhill for work and when returning home my keen eye spotted a old Schlitz Beer sign sticking out of the tree line. Being the curious type, I had to double back and find out what that sign was attached to.
What I discovered was a structure that I assume used to be some form of a bar or restaurant tucked back in the trees just off the road. The abandoned structure was in terrible shape and looks like it hadn't been occupied in decades. Surprisingly despite the condition of the building, the Schlitz sign attached to is in relatively good condition.
Honestly I was lucky that I passed by this location in the early spring instead of during the summer months because with the density of the vegetation surrounding the structure I doubt that I would have been able to see it at all.
This old bar/restaurant is located on the west side of Highway 371 between the towns of Cotton Valley and Sarepta.
