The Fantastic Four: First Steps - Marvel Studios Trailer Prepares for Launch | Marvel Studios and Future Foundation

Move over Marvel Universe - It's Clobberin' Time!

The cast of Marvel Studios' upcoming film "The Fantastic Four: First Steps" joined a live audience at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama - home of the iconic Space Camp program - to officially launch the movie's inaugural trailer on Tuesday. Fans from around the world tuned in via a Marvel livestream to catch the big debut in real time, with the towering Saturn V rocket serving as a dramatic backdrop. Stars Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach led the countdown, hyping up the crowd for the highly anticipated first look at the new Fantastic Four film.

As a lifelong fan of the Fantastic Four, I'm thrilled to see this new film adaptation. Over the years, there have been numerous attempts to bring the Fantastic Four to the big screen, but they've largely failed to live up to fans' expectations. However, this time around, it looks like Marvel has finally hit the mark.

The film has a futuristic-retro aesthetic that perfectly captures the essence of the Fantastic Four's Silver Age origins in the Marvel Comics universe. As a fan, I couldn't ask for anything more. The addition of H.E.R.B.I.E., the Fantastic Four's robot companion from the 1970s animated series, is a nice touch. And rather than going with the obvious villain, Doctor Doom, the filmmakers have opted to pit the team against the powerful cosmic entity Galactus, the Devourer of Worlds. That's a bold and exciting choice that has me eager to see the epic showdown unfold on screen.

Overall, it seems Marvel has finally found the right formula to do justice to this beloved superhero team. As a longtime fan, I can't wait to see how this new Fantastic Four movie delivers.

From Marvel Studios:

Set against the vibrant backdrop of a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world, Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps introduces Marvel’s First Family — Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic (Pascal), Sue Storm/Invisible Woman (Kirby), Johnny Storm/Human Torch (Quinn), and Ben Grimm/The Thing (Moss-Bachrach) — as they face their most daunting challenge yet. Forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, they must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer (Julia Garner). And if Galactus’ plan to devour the entire planet and everyone on it weren’t bad enough, it suddenly gets very personal.

The action adventure also stars Paul Walter Hauser, John Malkovich, Natasha Lyonne and Sarah Niles.

Directed by Matt Shakman, produced by Kevin Feige, and executive produced by Louis D’Esposito, Grant Curtis, and Tim Lewis, The Fantastic Four: First Steps opens in theaters July 25, 2025.

The Future Foundation invites you to join us at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama, as we count down to the launch of the official trailer for Marvel Studios' The Fantastic Four: First Steps.

Marvel also shared the first teaser posters for the film, inviting fans to prepare for the upcoming launch.

Abandoned Louisiana - The Pirate's Cove Water Park / Resort in Iowa

About ten minutes east of the city of Lake Charles are the remains of an abandoned water park . The decaying structures are clearly visible from the busy I-10 freeway and for years drivers have wondered about it's history and why it was left for dead.   The Pirate's Cove Water Park actually has a rather interesting story behind it. A story that has been repeated over and over again, unfortunately, here in Louisiana. It's just another example of how government bureaucracy in this state killed an enterprise before it could ever get off the ground. Construction on the park began in 2008 and it was scheduled to open sometime in 2010. The sprawling complex was envisioned as an oasis from the hot summer heat that would feature luxurious amenities like a 900 foot long lazy river, a giant splash pad for the kids and eventually a five star hotel. The Pirate's Cove would have been an obvious tourist destination that could have brought much needed tax dollars and employment oppo...

Abandoned Louisiana - The Old Hightower Family Home in Dodson

I have to admit that I have been hanging on to these photos for a couple of months now just looking for the right minute to post them. Back in November I was traveling up to El Dorado, Arkansas and I passed through the small town of Dodson. While driving through town my eyes spotted a very attractive old house up on a hill and I just had to stop and take a few photos of it. I honestly don't know the history of this house, but I'm sure some local will send me message telling me all about it (and someone did see the UPDATE ), and it's not as cool as an abandoned railroad locomotive or old movie house but it really spoke to me. I have to wonder about the people who used to live in it and how it ended up in the state it is now. Anyone can see that it was a beautiful house long ago. What happened? How did such a grand residence end up like this? Those are questions that I can't answer unfortunately.  Unfortunately a site like this isn't all that uncommon here in Louisian...
