I ran into a real quandary trying to decide which song I would feature in todays Hot Traxx . To be honest there is a lot of great new music out there and it's getting difficult to zone in on one song that stands out above the rest.
Ultimately I couldn't decide on my own so I consulted my last.fm scrobbles to see what song had gotten the most plays over the week. That song happened to be Falling For Someone from British band Blossoms.
I discovered the band about a year or so ago and I liked them so much that I created a playlist for them on Spotify.
Let's check out a live performance of Falling For Someone:
History:
Blossoms are an English indie pop band from Stockport, Greater Manchester, England. Formed in 2013, the band consists of Tom Ogden (lead vocals, guitar), Charlie Salt (bass, backing vocals), Josh Dewhurst (lead guitar, percussion), Joe Donovan (drums) and Myles Kellock (keyboards, synthesizer, backing vocals).
They were on the BBC's Sound Of new music list for 2016 where they finished in fourth place. It was commented by the band and several other people that they were one of only two guitar bands on the list, alongside Rat Boy. Blossoms' self-titled debut album was one of the twelve albums nominated for the Mercury Music Prize in 2017, that same year they were nominated for British Breakthrough Act at the Brit Awards.
