The Doctor's Sexiest Companion? Leela (1978/79)

Leela was a warrior of the Sevateem, descended over many generations from a colonisation ship’s survey team. Proud, strong and occasionally violent, Leela was also curious to learn more, running into the TARDIS when the Doctor refused to take her with him, and accidentally activating the controls. Resisting the Doctor’s attempts to “civilise” her, she fought sinister Voc robots, slimy Rutans and even leapt through a window to escape a murderous ventriloquist dummy. After helping the Doctor defeat the Sontarans’ invasion of time, she chose to remain on Gallifrey with Commander Andred and the first version of K-9.

Leela was played by actress Louise Jameson:

Louise Jameson is a classically trained actress whose first love is the stage but she also became known to millions of British television viewers through her roles in such hugely popular television series as Doctor Who, Tenko, Bergerac and EastEnders.

Recent television credits include Doctors, Secret Life of Boys, Silent Witness and Midsomer Murders. Theatre credits include Vincent River (Trafalgar Studios) and directing Revenge (UK Tour). Audio credits include Doctor Who (Big Finish), writing ATA Girl and multiple titles for BBC Audio and Audible.

Abandoned Louisiana - The Pirate's Cove Water Park / Resort in Iowa

 About ten minutes east of the city of Lake Charles are the remains of an abandoned water park . The decaying structures are clearly visible from the busy I-10 freeway and for years drivers have wondered about it's history and why it was left for dead.   The Pirate's Cove Water Park actually has a rather interesting story behind it. A story that has been repeated over and over again, unfortunately, here in Louisiana. It's just another example of how government bureaucracy in this state killed an enterprise before it could ever get off the ground. Construction on the park began in 2008 and it was scheduled to open sometime in 2010. The sprawling complex was envisioned as an oasis from the hot summer heat that would feature luxurious amenities like a 900 foot long lazy river, a giant splash pad for the kids and eventually a five star hotel.
