Tucked away off the beaten path where Highway 165 crosses over the main line of the Union Pacific Railroad on tracks that serve the Railmark facility in Georgetown, Louisiana sits an old industrial switcher. I have visited this site many times and I believe that the unit no longer functions although this time it appeared to be hooked up to a line of tank cars. The section of track that the locomotive and it's accompanying rolling stock continues north across State Road 1230 and into the nearby woods. I believe that the trackage used to belong to the Louisiana Midland Railroad that once interchanged with the Missouri Pacific (now Union Pacific) at Georgetown. I tried to find out a little history about the locomotive online to no avail.
I'm going to leave this one open ended because I know that after I post this some local railroad buff will fill me in on all the details and correct me on my assumptions.
