Over the past week I've been getting down to my musical roots which sprung from my childhood in the 1970s. In my opinion it was the last true decade of true American music. Reflecting back this was an amazing time for rock, pop, soul, funk, blues and even the much maligned disco. The decade was a showcase for so many different types of popular music. What happened in the 70s influenced the music of the 80s and beyond (For better or worse). It was a very unique period in music indeed.
Here is my top ten list of 70s hits this week:
1. Lou Rawls - You'll Never Find Another Love Like Mine (1976)
2. America - A Horse With No Name (1971)
3. Bee Gees - Staying Alive (1977)
4. Candi Stanton-Young Hearts Run Free (1976)
5. Carole King - I Feel the Earth Move (1971)
6. Eagles - Take It Easy (1972)
7. Fleetwood Mac - Go Your Own Way (1977)
8. Linda Ronstadt - You're No Good (1975)
9. Ringo Starr - Photograph (1973)
10. Chic - I Want Your Love (1978)
