Jon Favreau Set To Bring The Mandalorian & Grogu To The Big Screen

The future of The Mandalorian has gone from a movie, to a fourth season on Disney +, and now back to a movie again.

The Mandalorian and Grogu are embarking on a new adventure — to movie theaters.

Directed by Jon Favreau, and produced by Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, and Dave Filoni, The Mandalorian & Grogu will go into production in 2024.

“I have loved telling stories set in the rich world that George Lucas created,” said Favreau. “The prospect of bringing the Mandalorian and his apprentice Grogu to the big screen is extremely exciting.”

"Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni have ushered into Star Wars two new and beloved characters, and this new story is a perfect fit for the big screen," added Kathleen Kennedy, president of Lucasfilm.

The Mandalorian & Grogu will lead Lucasfilm's ongoing feature-development slate, including films helmed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, James Mangold, and Dave Filoni, who is also currently developing Ahsoka Season 2, among those in the works.

I have to admit that I am one of those kind of people who spend an incomprehensible amount of time scrolling through my Facebook feed in irrational desperation trying to find some sort of interesting tidbit to stimulate my mind among the countless adds for brain teaser games and rip-off athletic jerseys. It's kinda like looking for a Mensa candidate in a cave full of Yetis, an exercise in futility that only goes to prove that I'm the one with a screw loose.


Preparing For Season 3 of The Mandalorian


The journeys of the Mandalorian through the Star Wars galaxy continue. Once a lone bounty hunter, Din Djarin has reunited with Grogu. Meanwhile, the New Republic struggles to lead the galaxy away from its dark history. The Mandalorian will cross paths with old allies and make new enemies as he and Grogu continue their journey together.


Props From A Galaxy Far Far Away


Throughout the exhibit are dozens of props and costumes from all six of the Star Wars films with some hands on science experiments thrown into the mix so that the visitor can get a good feel for how Hollywood imagination has lead to genuine scientific advancements. Just about everything a Star Wars fan would want to see is there for the gawking. Behind glass are Luke Skywalker's X-Wing Fighter, the Darth Vader costume from the original Star Wars, the Sandcrawler model, Wookie costumes from 'Revenge of the Sith', they are all here. I could have spent the entire day just staring at the amazing detail that goes into each model and costume. This is the only way, unless you get an invite to Skywalker Ranch, that the average Star Wars fan can view these wonderful items that helped create the Star Wars saga.

Abandoned Louisiana - The Pirate's Cove Water Park / Resort in Iowa

 About ten minutes east of the city of Lake Charles are the remains of an abandoned water park . The decaying structures are clearly visible from the busy I-10 freeway and for years drivers have wondered about it's history and why it was left for dead.   The Pirate's Cove Water Park actually has a rather interesting story behind it. A story that has been repeated over and over again, unfortunately, here in Louisiana. It's just another example of how government bureaucracy in this state killed an enterprise before it could ever get off the ground. Construction on the park began in 2008 and it was scheduled to open sometime in 2010. The sprawling complex was envisioned as an oasis from the hot summer heat that would feature luxurious amenities like a 900 foot long lazy river, a giant splash pad for the kids and eventually a five star hotel. Abandoned Louisiana - The Old Hightower Family Home in Dodson

I have to admit that I have been hanging on to these photos for a couple of months now just looking for the right minute to post them. Back in November I was traveling up to El Dorado, Arkansas and I passed through the small town of Dodson. While driving through town my eyes spotted a very attractive old house up on a hill and I just had to stop and take a few photos of it. I honestly don't know the history of this house, but I'm sure some local will send me message telling me all about it (and someone did see the UPDATE ), and it's not as cool as an abandoned railroad locomotive or old movie house but it really spoke to me. I have to wonder about the people who used to live in it and how it ended up in the state it is now. Anyone can see that it was a beautiful house long ago. What happened? How did such a grand residence end up like this? Those are questions that I can't answer unfortunately.  Unfortunately a site like this isn't all that uncommon here in Louisian...
