Hot Traxx Rewind: The Temper Trap - Fader

I have been itching to talk about one of my favorite contemporary groups for some time. Tonight's installment of Hot Traxx Rewind gives me to gush about an amazing alternative band from Australia called The Temper Trap. I first discovered the group ten years ago on Pandora and I have been hooked on them ever since.

If you have been paying attention to my music posts over the last few months you have probably picked up on my love for alternative bands that hail from the land down under. I have posted videos from bands like The Preatures and  Yumi Zouma (okay they are from New Zealand). Today this posting is my third about an artist from Australia being that I featured videos by both Gordi and The Bamboos earlier in the day.

I honestly feel that the quality of material coming from that region of the globe is absolutely strong and innovative. Though many of these acts have not caught on here in America (yet) I believe that it is only a matter of time before we have another Aussie Invasion similar to the early 80s when bands like INXS, Midnight Oil, Men at Work and Icehouse all scored hits on the US top 40.

Tonight we are going to travel back to The Temper Trap's first album Conditions with one of my favorite songs called Fader:

Let's follow that up with the first Temper Trap song I ever heard Sweet Disposition:

History:

The Temper Trap are an Australian indie rock band formed in 2005 by Dougy Mandagi, Jonathon Aherne, and Toby Dundas. In 2008, the group relocated from Melbourne to London. The band released their debut album Conditions in June 2009 to favorable reviews and commercial success; it peaked at No. 9 on the ARIA Albums Chart and into the top 30 on the UK Albums Chart. Its lead single, "Sweet Disposition", peaked in the top 10 on the Belgian, Irish and UK Singles Charts and reached No. 14 on the ARIA Singles Chart. At the ARIA Music Awards of 2010 in November, The Temper Trap won Best Group and Most Popular Australian Single for "Sweet Disposition".Their eponymous second album was released in late May/early June 2012 under Liberation Music (AUS), Infectious Records (UK) and Glassnote Records (US). The album won the band Best Rock Album, and they also won Best Group at the 2012 ARIA Awards. In October 2013 guitarist Lorenzo Sillitto left the band, during the recording of the third album.
