There is one thing that you can always count on in Louisiana and that thing is a beautiful sunrise.
Since I had the day off I decided to get up early and venture out with my camera to capture some of the beautiful scenery here in Central Louisiana. I've been promising myself that I would take some time to get back into my photography for almost a year now and a holiday from work provided me the opportunity to cash in.
I ventured south of my home to an area known as Meeker. In the past Meeker was actually the location of a small pioneer town. All that's left of that town is an abandoned sugar mill unfortunately. The area, however, does provide some of the most beautiful scenery in Cenla. The morning light really brought out some amazing hues in the native foliage that are quite striking. Overall it was a magical opportunity to enjoy Louisiana's beauty and capture it through the lens of my camera.
