St. Lucia - Another Lifetime 


Jean-Philip Grobler (1983), known for his musical project St. Lucia, is a South African singer and musician based in Brooklyn. He is signed to Columbia Records and to date has released three albums; When the Night (2013), Matter (2016), and Hyperion (2018).

Hatchie - Lights On

 

 Harriette Pilbeam (born 4 May 1993), known professionally as Hatchie, is an Australian singer-songwriter and musician. She released her debut EP, Sugar & Spice, in 2018 and her debut studio album Keepsake on 21 June 2019.

Bear's Den - Blue Hours



Bear's Den are a British folk rock band from London, formed in 2012. The band consists of Andrew Davie (lead vocals, electric guitar, acoustic guitar) and Kevin Jones (vocals, drums, bass, guitar). Joey Haynes (vocals, banjo, guitar) left the band in early 2016. Since their 2016/2017 Tour in Europe and North America Joey has been replaced by the Dutch artist Christof van der Ven, not as an official member but as a session musician.

Flasher - Sideways

 

 Flasher began in 2016, with their history dating back to Emma Baker and Daniel Saperstein forming Sad Bones whilst still in high school, who released music digitally via Bandcamp. Taylor Mulitz met the duo at a show in 2007. Several years later, Mulitz and Baker formed Young Trynas and released an EP in 2015. The band originally featured bassist Eva Moolchan, who was replaced by Saperstein.

MUNA - Anything But Me

 

 Muna (stylized as MUNA) (/ˈmuːnə/ MOON-ə) is an American electronic pop band consisting of Katie Gavin, Josette Maskin, and Naomi McPherson. They released two studio albums with RCA Records, About U (2017) and Saves the World (2019), before signing with independent label Saddest Factory Records. Their self-titled third studio album will be released on June 24, 2022.

Geowulf - Drown

 

 Geowulf is an Australian dream pop duo formed in Sunshine Coast, Queensland in 2016. Their debut studio album, Great Big Blue, was released in 2018, and their second album, My Resignation, was released on October 25, 2019.

 About ten minutes east of the city of Lake Charles are the remains of an abandoned water park . The decaying structures are clearly visible from the busy I-10 freeway and for years drivers have wondered about it's history and why it was left for dead.   The Pirate's Cove Water Park actually has a rather interesting story behind it. A story that has been repeated over and over again, unfortunately, here in Louisiana. It's just another example of how government bureaucracy in this state killed an enterprise before it could ever get off the ground. Construction on the park began in 2008 and it was scheduled to open sometime in 2010. The sprawling complex was envisioned as an oasis from the hot summer heat that would feature luxurious amenities like a 900 foot long lazy river, a giant splash pad for the kids and eventually a five star hotel. Abandoned Louisiana - The Old Hightower Family Home in Dodson

I have to admit that I have been hanging on to these photos for a couple of months now just looking for the right minute to post them. Back in November I was traveling up to El Dorado, Arkansas and I passed through the small town of Dodson. While driving through town my eyes spotted a very attractive old house up on a hill and I just had to stop and take a few photos of it. I honestly don't know the history of this house, but I'm sure some local will send me message telling me all about it (and someone did see the UPDATE ), and it's not as cool as an abandoned railroad locomotive or old movie house but it really spoke to me. I have to wonder about the people who used to live in it and how it ended up in the state it is now. Anyone can see that it was a beautiful house long ago. What happened? How did such a grand residence end up like this? Those are questions that I can't answer unfortunately.  Unfortunately a site like this isn't all that uncommon here in Louisian...
