Bayou Boeuf Afternoon - Louisiana Photography | Through My Lens

After a brief hiatus from sharing my photo features, I recently returned to Lecompte, the central Louisiana farming town where my wife and I lived for four years. While I continued taking pictures during my time away, I wanted to step back from regularly posting them online. This set of images, captured in early July, offers a glimpse into the life I've documented through numerous of photos from this part of the state.

I would frequently wander the tranquil shores of Bayou Boeuf, marveling at the natural splendor of the almost still waters. No matter how stressful life became, a simple stroll across the Canal Street bridge, gazing upon the trees, water, and surrounding flora, would cause all my troubles to fade away. This beloved bayou embodied the very essence of Louisiana for me, and I felt truly blessed to have such breathtaking beauty mere blocks from my doorstep.

Although I deeply miss the tranquility of small-town living, I've always been drawn to the excitement and opportunities of city life. However, my time in Lecompte has profoundly shaped me. There is immense value in pausing to appreciate the beauty of God's creation. Life is far too precious to simply rush through it. I encourage you to discover your own serene sanctuary where you can reflect and immerse yourself in the purity of nature. For me, Bayou Boeuf will forever be that special place.

I hope you enjoy these images:
