On this cold and wet morning here in Central Louisiana I decided to take another plunge into my photo archives from my days living in Southern California. Since it is rather chilly and dark outside I wanted to post something bright and sunny that would warm up the body and soul.
I came across these pics that I took one afternoon while enjoying the sights around the Newport Beach area. The majority of these photos were actually taken at Little Corona Beach (Little Corona del Mar Beach) and in a couple of the shots you can see the famous Arch Rock just off the coast. As you can see these unique rock formations are popular places for seagulls, pelicans and other ocean loving birds to take refuge. They are also popular with tourists and camera nuts like myself because of their unique shapes.
As you can see I wasn't alone on the beach today, there were several young ladies out enjoying the warm California sun. I wanted to include them in some of the shots because, to be honest, who wouldn't want some California beach shots with girls in bikinis in them. Being the shy type I couldn't work up the nerve to actually ask them if they would pose for some pictures. I thought that id I did they would think I was some sort of creeper.
One of the shots looks like the young ladies were actually posing for me, but I assure you that I caught that moment by pure luck.
Moving on, there were a lot more wonderful things to look at on the beach that day beyond my female companions. The water was a brilliant blue and the sunlight sparkled on the water. It was also early enough in the summer that all the flowers were in bloom.
It was a great day to visit one of my favorite places in Southern California for sure.
