In the northern Caucasus town of Elbrus, residents have reported an unusual number of Almasty sightings, mostly encounters with flirtatious females, typically by local men. In fact, it's a very common occurrence to spot the legendary creature around the town itself, with every resident claiming to have seen the Almasty at least once.

From FOX News: A missing woman was found eaten alive by a massive python after locals cut her body out of the snake in Indonesia . Farida, 45, went missing on Thursday night. Her body was discovered inside the reticulated python Friday by her husband and residents of Kalempang village in South Sulawesi province, a local official said, according to AFP. The search for the missing mother of four began after she failed to return home Thursday night, village chief Suardi Rosi told AFP. Her husband "found her belongings… which made him suspicious. The villagers then searched the area. They soon spotted a python with a large belly," Suardi said. "They agreed to cut open the python's stomach. As soon as they did, Farida's head was immediately visible."

  Bigfoot in Canada? Multiple reports from the Houston region describe encounters with these legendary beasts. A cluster of recent Bigfoot sightings suggests a sizable group may inhabit the remote forests near this British Columbian locale. Over the past several decades, there have been hundreds of reported Bigfoot sightings across Canada. Recent encounters near Houston, British Columbia have led experts to believe a significant population of the hairy hominids may inhabit the area. In just the last month, three sightings of the upright-walking creature have been reported on the Moricetown Reservation.

 A funny story from 2021 resurfaced this week on Facebook about a review that a British father named Ron left on Trip Advisor about his families trip to Loch Ness. Apparently good old Ron was rather miffed that Nessie didn't grace his family with a grand viewing (and possibly an autograph signing?) so he left this rather scathing, and unintentionally humorous  review: “What a disappointment. “We traveled 400 miles from Grimsby to see the Loch Ness Monster and it didn't show up. “Don't go if you are wanting to see it because it you will end up bitterly disappointed like we were.

 This past week I discovered an interesting little tidbit in Facebook feed from a paranormal group about Native American encounters with giant hominoids in ancient times. Included in the article was the above illustration that sparked my interest simply because it looked like the cover of an old Turok Son of Stone comic book. Nostalgia aside, the accompanying story jarred my memory of something I had read years ago about the discovery of a giant skeleton in Lompoc, California sometime in the 1800s. This again sparked my curiosity and I was able to find the story with a quick online search. In 1833, a group of Mexican soldiers stationed in Lompoc, were digging a powder-magazine pit on the old Lompoc Rancho one morning when they unearthed a human skeleton. This skeleton, found beneath a layer of cemented gravel, was 12 feet tall.  It's a cold and wet winter evening so it's time to spin a tale about a monster that reportedly claimed several victims over a matter of years on a remote Russian lake. Everyone is familiar with the legend of 'Nessie' the Scottish lake monster who has has been spotted in and around Loch Ness. For centuries people have caught glimpses of something strange swimming in the lake's murky water. The Loch Ness Monster occasionally pops up from time to time for a photo op or to appear in someone's vacation video. Good old 'Nessie' may be a tease but she is generally regarded as a very benign monster. The same can not be said for Nessie's Russian counterpart Nesski who often turns over boats and attacks fisherman on Lake Chany. An anonymous couple found something unusual in a home video shot on their vacation to the Appalachians an image of Bigfoot. While hiking The Appalachian Trail in October the couple stumbled upon a group of broken tree limbs that looked like a fort or nest. While examining the strange formation the couple heard some strange vocalizations coming from a close proximity. These strange sounds prompted the couple to flee the area. It wasn't until they got home that they noticed that they had captured the source of the animal sounds on tape. "You can actually hear it go 'huh-ah,' like a monkey. I mean, deep in the lungs," said the witness. "I panicked. The sounds were loud and they freaked me out, to be honest with you. I told my wife we need to get out of here.  In April of 2009 a father and son were out riding their ATVs in a creek near the town of Saltville, Virginia when something strange emerged from the woods right in front of them. Luckily the son was filming his father when the encounter occurred. Ian Monckton was just trying to enjoy a romantic weekend with his fiancé Tracey Gordon when the pair had a run-in with the Loch Ness Monster. The couple were enjoying a drive around Loch Ness, when Ian decided to pull over to the side of the road to enjoy the scenery. The romantic mood was suddenly broken by a load thrashing in the water. Monckton quickly exited the vehicle to get a look at what was making the commotion. Using the cars headlights he took several photos of an object that was just a few meters away.
