Very rarely does an undrafted rookie from a small college look like a seasoned veteran in their very first NFL game. Last night receiver Lance McCutchen put on a highlight reel performance that included two touchdowns and and another grab for a two point conversion. On his fist score the rookie hauled in a bomb from quarterback Bryce Perkins between two Charger defenders, fought them both off and sprinted into the endzone.
Check this out!
That looks impressive on it's own, but it even looks more insane when you check out this closeup image of the grab from Getty Images,THAT'S A 60-YARD TOUCHDOWN FOR @mccutcheonlance ‼️@RamsNFL ➡️6️⃣

You may think that he simply go lucky on that one. You may think that but his second score of the night he caught the ball with another Charger defender doing everything possible to draw a pass interference.
When you reveiew his tape from Montana State you discover that McCutchen made catches like this all the time.Lookin' good @mccutcheonlance 🔥🔥

It's true that one great preseason game is no real indicator on whether a player will have a good pro career. It doesn't even point to that player making that team's final roster when all things are said and dome.
The Rams have arguably the best receiving corp in the NFL and fitting in McCutchen may prove difficult. That being said two more games like this one will make it almost impossible to cut him or try and stash him on the Practice Squad.
