The University of New Mexico Lobos men's basketball team has an exciting opportunity on the horizon, as they've been selected to participate in the prestigious 2025 Hall of Fame Classic tournament. This marquee early-season event, now in its 25th year, will take place on November 20th and 21st at the state-of-the-art T-Mobile Center located in the heart of downtown Kansas City, Missouri.
The Lobos will be part of a competitive four-team field that also includes the Kansas State Wildcats, Mississippi State Bulldogs, and Nebraska Cornhuskers - all programs that finished in the top 75 of last season's NCAA NET rankings. The Lobos and Bulldogs are both coming off NCAA Tournament appearances, while the Cornhuskers claimed last year's inaugural College Basketball Crown title. Although matchups, game times, TV details and ticket information are still to be announced, college hoops fans can expect a thrilling two days of high-level basketball action.
For New Mexico, this will mark their second visit to T-Mobile Center, having previously faced off there against the Kansas Jayhawks in the 2013-14 season. The Lobos have some history with the other Classic participants as well, owning a 2-4 record against Kansas State, a 1-0 mark versus Nebraska, and they'll meet Mississippi State for the first time ever. No matter who they face, the Lobos will undoubtedly be looking to make a statement on the national stage and continue building momentum for what they hope will be another successful campaign.
