I'm Thinking of Spending My Summer Vacation at 'Asteroid City'

 Last night I watched a rather intriguing trailer for Wes Anderson's upcoming quirky sci-fi comedy 'Asteroid City'. From that clip it looks like Anderson created a world set in a mash up of every retro tourist trap along old Route 66 with the backdrop from a Road Runner cartoon The story looks like a  X-Files episode crossed with the humor of 'Raising Arizona'.

The official synopsis:

Asteroid City takes place in a fictional American desert town circa 1955. Synopsis: The itinerary of a Junior Stargazer/Space Cadet convention (organized to bring together students and parents from across the country for fellowship and scholarly competition) is spectacularly disrupted by world-changing events.

'Asteroid City' stars Jason Schwartzman, Scarlett Johansson, and Tom Hanks and opens June 16th.
