From The Naranjo Museum of Natural History
Bring your artifacts to the Naranjo Museum for identification this weekend.
The Naranjo Museum of Natural History in Lufkin, TX will be hosting an Artifact Identification Weekend on Saturday, February 17 from 10:00am-5:00pm and Sunday, February 18 from 1:00pm - 5:00pm. During the weekend, visitors will be able to bring fossils, objects they have found, artifacts, arrowheads and other historical objects to be identified by expert Morris Weeks and Naranjo Museum founder, Dr. Neal Naranjo.
Morris Weeks serves on the Naranjo Museum board and assists the museum with Native American artifact research and identification. Mr. Weeks has a passion for Native American History and can identify arrowheads and other artifacts as well as matching the object with the correct tribe.
Artifact Identification Weekend is a great opportunity for visitors who have items they would like more information about. Identifications are free with standard museum admission and visitors can RSVP by emailing Erin Gentry at info@naranjomuseum.org or calling (936)-639-3466.
