This past Friday I used the park for something deeper and more spiritual, I needed a quiet and secluded spot to pray. I drove into the park and located a secluded picnic table along the banks of the river. It was the perfect spot. The wind was gently blowing through the trees, the birds were chirping away I could here the faint sounds of the water as it passed by. It was truly one of the most beautiful places that I have ever been.
Though it was hard at times not to get distracted by the natural beauty around me, I was able to open up to the Lord about my problems and seek his wisdom and direction in my life. I entered that park feeling very lost, somewhat afraid, and very much wanted to seek God's will instead of relying on my own feelings and intuitions. I very much want to start doing things in my life differently and the first step in doing that is to start seeking God first when it comes to making decisions. I had a great talk with God that afternoon and when I drove out the park gates, I felt like the Lord had indeed heard my prayers and I felt strong in fact that God has a purpose for me in life.
You may not want to go to the Fort Bulow Recreation area to seek some sort of divine wisdom, you may to simply want to play a little Frisbee Golf or simply do some fishing. Regardless of why you need a place to simply get away from it all, this wonderful park is a place we should all treasure.
