Buffy The Vice President Slayer

Let's face the facts, Vice President Kamala Harris isn't very sharp and her recent trip to Mexico and Guatemala to address our country's growing border crises proved she's not much of a diplomat either.

Actress Kristy Swanson noticed something familiar about Vice President Harris's puzzling answer to a question about why she still hasn't visited the US/Mexico border:

It looks like actress Kristy Swanson (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) got that context of that response spot on.

It's not bad enough that Harris couldn't answer questions by NBC's Lester Holt about her visit, but she also gave a forty-minute speech while in Mexico which was nothing more than a string of clichés and nonsensical ramblings with little to no substance.

This has the left starting to worry. They have a President and a Vice President that go off script when they speak and say cringe worthy things that have the American people scratching their heads.

There is an article in the SF Gate (which a very ... no I mean really liberal publication) that documents how the White House is trying to distance itself from everything Harris just did south of the border:

Some in White House reportedly 'quietly perplexed' by Kamala Harris' NBC interview

It seems the White House is concerned about Vice President Kamala Harris' awkward interview with NBC's Lester Holt in Guatemala, in which he pressed her on why she has yet to visit the southern border amid a surge in migrant arrivals.

In April, Harris was put in charge of the administration's efforts to mitigate the surge, with her embarking on the Guatemala trip to work on solutions for the "root causes" of migration. CNN reports that "some administration officials" are "quietly perplexed about what they perceive as her bumpy answers to questions about whether she will go to the US-Mexico border."

Holt asked Harris multiple times why she has yet to visit the border, with Harris at one point answering, "And I haven't been to Europe either."

Oh and there is this:

In addition to drawing criticism from Republicans, Harris has also drawn fire from progressives including Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on her trip. During a speech earlier in the week, the vice president told Guatemalans not to come to border seeking asylum.

"This is disappointing to see," Ocasio-Cortez wrote. "First, seeking asylum at any US border is a 100% legal method of arrival. Second, the US spent decades contributing to regime change and destabilization in Latin America. We can’t help set someone’s house on fire and then blame them for fleeing."

Well at least Harris can rest assured that no matter how disappointing she may be to her own party, AOC more than willing to step up to the plate and say something even more moronic.

I think that is more than sad that these are the people that we elected to represent us.

Abandoned Louisiana - The Pirate's Cove Water Park / Resort in Iowa

About ten minutes east of the city of Lake Charles are the remains of an abandoned water park . The decaying structures are clearly visible from the busy I-10 freeway and for years drivers have wondered about it's history and why it was left for dead.   The Pirate's Cove Water Park actually has a rather interesting story behind it. A story that has been repeated over and over again, unfortunately, here in Louisiana. It's just another example of how government bureaucracy in this state killed an enterprise before it could ever get off the ground. Construction on the park began in 2008 and it was scheduled to open sometime in 2010. The sprawling complex was envisioned as an oasis from the hot summer heat that would feature luxurious amenities like a 900 foot long lazy river, a giant splash pad for the kids and eventually a five star hotel. The Pirate's Cove would have been an obvious tourist destination that could have brought much needed tax dollars and employment oppo...

Abandoned Louisiana - The Old Hightower Family Home in Dodson

I have to admit that I have been hanging on to these photos for a couple of months now just looking for the right minute to post them. Back in November I was traveling up to El Dorado, Arkansas and I passed through the small town of Dodson. While driving through town my eyes spotted a very attractive old house up on a hill and I just had to stop and take a few photos of it. I honestly don't know the history of this house, but I'm sure some local will send me message telling me all about it (and someone did see the UPDATE ), and it's not as cool as an abandoned railroad locomotive or old movie house but it really spoke to me. I have to wonder about the people who used to live in it and how it ended up in the state it is now. Anyone can see that it was a beautiful house long ago. What happened? How did such a grand residence end up like this? Those are questions that I can't answer unfortunately.  Unfortunately a site like this isn't all that uncommon here in Louisian...
