I may seem odd that a state that seems to be in perpetual drought would choose to dump half of it's water reserves each year to help Salmon spawn, but that is exactly what California does. This highly illogical fact came to the attention of California Globe writer Katy Grimes when she did some research into where exactly California's reservoir water ends up.
Grimes research discovered that thanks to extreme environmental activists it is now a state law that up to half of California's water reserves be pumped straight out to sea in hopes of increasing the salmon population. That's right folks, while you have been under water rationing thousands of gallons of needed water is going straight out to the ocean to help approximately one thousand fish get in the mood.
Grimes first became concerned when she learned that after a few extremely wet years in California that a seven year supply of water that was being stored in reservoirs had dwindled down to a mere two year supply in just two years.
The math simply doesn't add up.
And here's the punchline: all that water wasted and it has done virtually nothing to aide in those Salmon spawning.
Nothing.
