Sailboats Off Newport Beach California - By Ken Hulsey |
After everything that my family has experienced over the past two months something has become crystal clear. You can't navigate life's problems, be them tiny or gigantic, without a relationship with Jesus. I'm not talking about a casual prayer now and then but an actual relationship in which you communicate with, and are open to receiving communication from, our savior.
A true relationship with God can get you through sorrow, addiction, a financial crisis and even illness from a global pandemic.
Over the past couple of months my family has endured our fair share of issues and honestly we couldn't have made it without our ever growing faith. No matter what came our way we kept our faith in Jesus because we knew in our hearts that He had our backs. We could have easily turned away from our faith due to the things we were going through but we didn't. I have to admit that in the past I probably would have lost faith after facing such tribulation. The fact that I didn't illustrates just how much growth there has been in my personal relationship, as well as my family's relationship, with Jesus over the past decade.
I'm not afraid to admit that I can't do this life without Jesus and if I can leave you with one important message today it's the fact that you shouldn't try to live yours without a true relationship with Him. If you develop that relationship your life will change in so many unexpected ways and you will have a peace and strength that you can't attain by yourself when the dark times of your life threaten to overwhelm and cripple you.
Psalm 28:6-7 “Praise be to the LORD for He has heard my cry for mercy. The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.”
