Strange Adventures was a long-running sci-fi anthology series that featured various heroic figures including, Adam Strange, the Atomic Knights, Captain Comet, Chris KL-99, Darwin Jones, Deadman, the Enchantress, Immortal Man, Space Cabby, and the Star Rovers, as well as stories involving the Space Museum.
From issue 217 onwards, Strange Adventures ceased publishing new content (with the exception of issue 222 and the occasional prose story) and was repurposed to reprint old stories from itself and from its sister title, Mystery in Space. Like Mystery in Space, Strange Adventures was scheduled for a relaunch in 1978, but the plans were cancelled due to the DC Implosion. A year later, the relaunch went forward as a new title, Time Warp.

All this talent collected into one series of horror stories that are reminiscent of the old glory days of EC Comics. The black-and-white artwork is highly detailed and goes well with the highly captivating stories and surprise endings. Of course, you can see where the tale is heading on some stories, but there are some genuine surprises which allow the reader to enjoy these scary, but fun shorts. If your tastes range from time travel to vampires, don’t go to sleep without your Deadtime Stories. The crew of the Millennium Falcon have split up aboard the gambler's paradise known as The Wheel. While the droids C-3PO and R2-D2 take the unconscious Luke Skywalker to the Wheel's medical center, the Wheel's administrator Senator Simon Greyshade arranges to have Princess Leia brought to his quarters. And Chewbacca, having made his way to the Crimson Casino on the Wheel's upper level, is captured by members of the Wheel Security Force and forced to enter The Big Game. In the meantime, Han Solo is also entered into The Big Game, not knowing that Chewbacca too is a contestant in the gladiatorial event. This has all been arranged by Greyshade, who is working out a deal with Imperial Commander Strom to have all of the Rebels meet an untimely end on the condition that Leia be allowed to stay with Greyshade on the Wheel.
