Here is my simple recipe for some amazing tacos to spice up your life!
1. Start with Old El Paso Stand 'N Stuff Taco shells. I recommend warming them for a few seconds in the oven or microwave. You will be surprised just how of a difference this makes.
2. Brown up one pound of ground beef in pan and add ample amounts to each taco.
3. Next drizzle Young Guns Hatch Valley Red Chile Sauce over the meat. You can apply it sparingly are you can add a heaping spoonful like me to get the rich and spicy New Mexico flavor.
Remember to treat Red Chile Sauce like you would Pasta Sauce, in other words it's best when you heat it up in a pan or in the microwave. Heat always unleashes both the flavor and the spiciness of Hatch peppers. (That's why traditionally they are fire roasted)
Note: If you are not a fan of New Mexico Chile (Gringo) then I recommend adding Lawry's Taco Spices & Seasonings Mix to your ground beef as a substitute. Any other taco sauce or salsa would do as well. Go with what you like!4. Next add shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese.
5. Next add diced white onion to your desired taste.
6. Next comes diced tomatoes.
7. Sprinkle some shredded lettuce on top and viola you have just created the perfect taco.
If you are really in the mood for something adventurous you can add a spoonful of home made guacamole (or store bought if you don't know how to make guacamole) on top of the lettuce.
Likewise you can add a spoonful of sour cream to cool things down. This is how the little lady likes hers.
Serve with a side of refried beans or Spanish rice if your feeling really hungry!
Enjoy!
