Austin once stood, and witness history come alive under a darkened sky. This is a unique opportunity to connect with the cosmos while reflecting on the Lone Star State's rich heritage. Solar Eclipse Viewing, French Legation, Austin
See the historic solar eclipse at your local historic site, the French Legation, $7 admission at the gate gets you solar eclipse glasses and entry into our 3 acres of grounds. Bring your friends, bring a picnic, and enjoy the historic event!
Gates open 11:00 a.m., partial eclipse begins at 12:17 p.m, totality peaks at 1:36 p.m. partial eclipse ends at 2:58 p.m., gates close at 4:00 p.m. Capacity is restricted to the first 500 guests and parking limited.
Solar Eclipse Watch Party, Casa Navarro, San Antonio
Grab your friends, pack some snacks, and get ready to witness this unique celestial event from the comfort of our historic site in the heart of downtown San Antonio!
The eclipse will begin in San Antonio around 12:14 pm, peak at 1:33 pm, and then conclude at 2:55 pm.
Feel free to bring a chair and blanket! No registration/reservation is needed for this event. Please visit our website for museum admission pricing.

Lighthouse Solar Eclipse Viewing Event, Port Isabel Lighthouse, Port Isabel
The Port Isabel Lighthouse Solar Eclipse Viewing Event will offer a unique opportunity to view this solar event from the catwalk of a historic Lighthouse! A chance to imagine what it must've been like for the Lighthouse Keeper Henry Wildman and Assistant Keeper George Sanders and their families to marvel at the wonder of a twilight sky at noontime in 1878 when the last total eclipse occurred in Texas.
A very limited amount of reservations will be taken for this special event. Cost: $50 per person will include 3-hours of access to the Lighthouse during the Solar Eclipse on 4/8, a swag bag including viewing glasses and other goodies, a snack basket and an event t-shirt. Join the San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Site for the San Jacinto Day Celebration, a day of living-history activities celebrating the 188th anniversary of the Battle of San Jacinto. Interpreters dressed in period clothing will make the epic events of April 1836 come alive, and reenactments throughout the day will recreate the dramatic events that led to one of the most decisive and impactful military victories in the history of North America.
