From the Whittier Daily News - Brady MacDonald
As Disneyland prepares to celebrate its momentous 70th anniversary in May, the iconic Anaheim theme park resort is taking some time to spruce up and refresh several beloved attractions. In total, 10 popular rides and shows will be temporarily closing in April or May for seasonal refurbishments to ensure they're in tip-top shape for the big celebration. Thrill-seekers will have to wait a bit to experience the high-speed bobsled journey through the icy caverns of the Matterhorn or soar over stunning global landscapes in Soarin' Around the World. Families with little ones may be disappointed that they can't take a spin in the pastel teacups of the Mad Tea Party, fly with Dumbo the Flying Elephant, or gallop around King Arthur's Carrousel for a little while. The tropical birds of the Enchanted Tiki Room will take a brief hiatus from entertaining guests with their infectious musical numbers. And fans of chipmunk duo Chip 'n Dale will miss zooming around on their Gadget Coaster in Toontown. Over at Disney California Adventure, the immersive Sorcerer's Workshop and the charming Anna & Elsa's Royal Welcome will also close for a bit. And the nighttime spectacular "Fantasmic" will go dark to get ready for dazzling audiences again soon. These temporary closures come in addition to Indiana Jones Adventure, It's a Small World, Pixie Hollow and Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln already being closed for refurbishments. But don't worry - all of these beloved Disneyland experiences will be back and better than ever in time to celebrate 70 years of magic!
