Working On The Pastor's Website: Put Your Faith in Jesus, Not in Wealth

A few weeks back I was offered an opportunity by the pastoral staff at Journey Church to work on pastor James Greer's personal website (https://jameswgreer.com). I was delighted to be able to serve the church by utilizing the gift of website design that God has blessed me with.

After all, I do know a thing or two about websites.

The section of the site that was assigned to me is called "The Heart of a Millionaire" which broken down simply is a set of devotions that explain exactly what wealth is where it comes from.

SPOILER ALERT!

It's God.

Anyway, the last image I created for the page was the one above. I took a photo that I had taken some years ago at Crescent Bay in Southern California and added the title over it using a fun font. It may seem somewhat simplistic, but that's the idea. I have found over twenty plus years of building websites that you need to keep things simple, straight forward and clean.

The real hassle is finding just the right image to fit the article, finding just the right font and then choosing colors that stand out against the image.

It's a labor of love for a true artist ... lol.

Here is the content from the devotion entitled Put Your Faith In Jesus, Not Wealth:

It’s easy to forget our Faith needs to be in Jesus, not our Finances (Wealth).

1 Corinthians 2:5 NKJV
“that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God”
• Our faith needs to be in Jesus, not our finances.
• The wealthier we get the wiser we often get in our own eyes.
• What we really need is relationship over riches.
• Relationship with God first, then our mates.
• Wisdom is the main thing in life, but it’s godly wisdom, not worldly wisdom.

Proverbs 2:6 NKJV
“For the Lord gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding.”

If you could ask God for one thing what would it be? Be honest what is the first thing that came to your mind?

The reason young Solomon became one of the richest, most powerful, and wisest man who ever lived is because when God asked him what he wanted he said wisdom.

What relationship, if any, needs to be mended?
Do you have broken relationships over riches?
Can you now make decisions based on what’s best for your relationship over what’s bet for your riches.
