On this cold and rainy January morning I opted to mess with the settings of my camera a bit adjusting the aperture, bumping up the ISO a bit and slowing down the shutter speed to lighten up what would have been a rather dark and dreary photo.
I think that adjustments really made several elements of this old steam locomotive really stand out in a unique way.
If you have been following my work over the past few years you have undoubtedly read about my love for this old locomotive and I will be posting more photos of it from time to time.
In February of 1953 #400 hauled it's last load of logs to the nearby Crowell Long Leaf Lumber Company and was parked at this location. Here the locomotive has sat under the trees exposed to the harsh Louisiana weather for almost 70 years.
Today this locomotive is part of the Southern Forest Heritage Museum collection in Long Leaf, Louisiana,
