Over the years I have chosen to post rather light-hearted articles featuring things like vintage war era pinup girls and the lot. Today, however, I wanted to get your attention away from your family barbeque for a moment and have you look at some images that will hopefully impact you as deeply as they did me.

It is dubbed one of "three major UFO incidents" reported in Japan. The alleged incident dates back to Feb 23, 1975, when two boys playing near a vineyard in Kofu saw what they described as two saucer-shaped UFOs flashing in orange at around 6:30 p.m. They said a 120- to 130-centimeter tall alien with a big head, long ears and three fangs then descended, according to Tokutake. Back in the 70s when my family lived there I was in the parade every year (1974-78). One of my favorite childhood memories was seeing country singing star Tanya Tucker as the parade's grand marshal. From KAUZ 6 Wichita Falls: The City of Vernon kicked off the Santa Rosa Round-Up today, with of course, a parade. Vernon residents flooded the streets hoping to get a closer look at the festivities. We caught up with a community member who said the celebration of the Santa Rosa round is so important to all that it brings everyone out of their homes. “Coming out and showing their support and just communicating with each other. People out that don’t get out. Like my mother, she stays in the house all the time and this gets her out to see people.” Kar...

Star Wars - 1940s Film Noir Style | Get ready for an epic adventure filled with action, romance and thrilling dog fights among the stars

A Couple of weeks back I shared a couple of retro style Star Wars movie trailers made using artificial intelligence by Douggy Pledger and a group called Abandoned Films. The work of Douggy Pledger was a surreal look at what Star Wars may have looked like if it was a Silent Era film entitled Star Wars 1923 . The other was a view of what Star Wars would have looked like if it was made in the 1950s .

A Call To Action | Pastor Steve Smothermon | Legacy Church |

Photo by Ken Hulsey A Call to Action In the Parable of the Talents, recounted in the Gospel of Matthew, we see a profound lesson on responsibility and accountability to God's commands. The story tells us about a master who leaves his property in the hands of his servants, each according to their ability. Upon his return, the master evaluates their efforts. The servants who actively multiplied their talents were rewarded, demonstrating their understanding and alignment with their master’s expectations. However, the servant who buried his talent offered excuses — fear and a misjudgment of the master’s character — as reasons for his inaction. His master sharply rebuked him, revealing that excuses, especially those rooted in fear or a wrongful image of God, are not acceptable in the kingdom of God.

The Best Mexican Food in Louisiana Hands Down | Pedro's Tacos & Tequila Bar in Baton Rouge

If you have been following this blog, and my restaurant reviews, then you know that I have been on a quest for five years to find Mexican Food on par with what I used to enjoy out west. In my culinary adventures here in the Pelican State I have managed, through trial and error, to find a handful of  decent places to grab some south of the border inspired meals. Though the food has been good, it simply didn't excite my taste buds the way that I had become accustomed.
