Photos and Story by Ken Hulsey
This afternoon, I dove into my extensive collection of unpublished railroad photographs from my time living in Southern California. These images feature trains from both BNSF and Union Pacific, captured at famous railfanning spots like Cajon Pass, Tehachapi, Bakersfield, Fullerton, San Bernardino, and the Mojave Desert.
Since most of my fans are now based in the South, I thought they'd enjoy seeing what railroading looks like out West, as many may not have had the chance to visit these iconic locations themselves. I was truly fortunate to experience and photograph trains in these renowned railfanning destinations.
I hope these images convey the excitement of train watching in California. And don't worry, if you like these, I have plenty more to share! I selected these particular photos because they spoke to me today, but I have hundreds more in my collection. Enjoy!
