Louisiana Through My Lens | An Abandoned Bar Near Cotton Valley

Earlier this week I to drive all the way up to Springhill for work and when returning home my keen eye spotted a old Schlitz Beer sign sticking out of the tree line. Being the curious type, I had to double back and find out what that sign was attached to.

The Cove Hawaiian Grill in Baton Rouge | Food That Made My Heart Sing

When my wife and I moved from California to Louisiana six years ago we really didn't realize just how many of the things we truly loved that we would be leaving behind. One of those things was really good Asian food. If you travel anywhere in So Cal you can find any number of restaurants featuring Japanese, Chinese, Taiwanese, Indian, Vietnamese, and Korean cuisine. If you are craving a Spicy Tuna Roll or a steaming bowl of Phở all you have to do is just jump in your car and drive (or possibly even walk) a short distance to get it. One of the more unique dining experiences could be found at a Hawaiian BBQ restaurant, which were a little harder to find, but well worth the hunt. Alas, it had been well over six years since I had last tasted any Hawaiian food, that was, until last Thursday.

The Words Of Jesus Are Clear | Remaining Strong In Faith Will Lead To A Richer Life | Powerful Teaching With A Deeper Meaning

Photo and Article By: Ken Hulsey We all know that words can both encourage or destroy, likewise words can change opinions and are powerful enough to change and shape the course of human history. In around AD 30 Jesus Christ delivered the most powerful speech ever recorded to a large group of onlookers on the Korazim Plateau in northern Israel. In it Jesus taught the framework of God's new covenant with his people and laid the foundation for the Christian church.

PRAY & ACT: Get Moving | Pastor Steven Smothermon | Legacy Church

Have you ever caught yourself saying, "I will pray about it"? We need to pray without ceasing–according to the scripture, but to pray and not act means we are only talking. Some people only use it as a way of saying no or to delay action. There are some things we don't need to pray about. Where the will of God is known, why do I need to pray? For example, you don't need to pray about serving, but you may need to pray about where to serve. Start serving, start giving! Get moving!

Saying Goodbye To The Greatest Defensive Tackle In NFL History - Aaron Donald Retires

I was shocked earlier today when I checked the Rams Wire website to see if the team had signed any new free agents, but instead was smacked in the face with the news that Aaron Donald had unexpectedly retired. Donald, who is arguably the best defensive lineman of his generation and certainly the greatest Defensive Tackle to ever play the game, announced that he was hanging it up via his social media accounts earlier in the day. Many had speculated that Donald would have stepped aside just after the Rams had won Super Bowl 56 in which his crucial sack of Bengals quarterback Joe Borrow had sealed the teams victory. Since that time, Rams fans have been holding their breath every offseason in hopes that Donald would be coming back for another season. Today, however, the day that everyone hoped would never come, finally did.

Many fans of classic horror movies may be surprised to find out that earlier this month Pluto TV launched a 24 hour Universal Monsters Channel. I hadn't seen that show since it aired in the 70s! From Pluto: Blood-sucking vampires, stitched-together monsters, and howling werewolves are guaranteed to give you goosebumps! History Has Been Made - Godzilla Minus One Wins The Oscar For Best Visual Effects!

Last night the visual effects team of Masaki Takahashi, Takashi Yamazaki, Kiyoko Shibuya, and Tatsuji Nojima made cinematic history when their work for Godzilla Minus One won the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects. Despite the fact that the Godzilla movie series is currently the longest running franchise in the history of cinema not a single entry had ever been nominated for an Oscar prior to Minus One. The film was the surprise hit of 2023 and gained acclaim with critics and fans alike. Despite a meager budget of less than $15 million the film beat out the Hollywood juggernauts The Creator, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part 1, and Napoleon.

Alexandria Louisiana Tap Water Smells Like Fish - Here Are Some Possible Reasons Why

For the past few days we have noticed that our tap water has a strong fish-like odor. The smell is so bad that we have had to buy bottled water to wash our dishes and cook our food. This may become a problem because local stores are starting to sell out.

A Binge Worthy Documentary Series - Age of Samurai Battle for Japan

While scrolling through Netflix on Saturday, Terri and I stumbled upon the documentary series Age of Samurai Battle for Japan. Since we had been spending many of our weekend afternoons binging the films of the legendary Japanese director Akira Kurosawa we thought that it would be something that we would find interesting. From watching films like Yojimbo and Seven Samurai , we had some idea of how the warlords of Japan had fought bloody campaigns to take control of the country. Thanks to this really great documentary series we now understand the complex history of the Samurai and how their exploits inspired the works of Kurosawa that we both love so much.

Logan's Run - Welcome to the 23rd century - A perfect world of total pleasure...with just one catch

In 1976, director Michael Anderson took creative liberties when adapting the novel Logan's Run, written by George Clayton Johnson and William F. Nolan, to produce one of the most memorable sci-fi films ever made. While the original story set the terminal age at 21, Anderson raised it to 30 and toned down some of the book's racier scenes to avoid an R rating. Despite these changes, the film has often been called the "sexiest science fiction movie ever made."
