Photo & Story By: Ken HulseyCrescent Bay Point and Crescent Bay Beach in Laguna Beach hold such a special place in my heart. Whenever I think of this hidden gem, a wave of nostalgia washes over me and I'm filled with a deep sense of longing to return. The beach itself is an absolute slice of paradise - soft sand, crystal clear turquoise waters, and dramatic cliffs providing a stunning backdrop. What I love most is how uncrowded and peaceful it always is, a rarity for beaches in Southern California. The cove to the south end is perfect for beachcombing and discovering beautiful seashells. Many a lazy summer day was spent stretched out on the sand, diving into the refreshing waves, and riding boogie boards until the sun dipped below the horizon. In the off-season, Crescent Bay transforms into a tranquil oasis - an ideal spot for quiet reflection, meditation, long walks, and just drinking in the rugged coastal beauty, far from the crowds and bustle. Perched above, Crescent Bay Point offers sweeping, breathtaking views up and down the coastline and out to sea. I could sit for hours on one of the benches, captivated by the sea lions barking and frolicking on Two Rock Point as seabirds whirled and dove overhead. The grassy park is wonderful for picnics and flying kites on a breezy day. Writing this floods me with so many treasured memories of this special place that will always feel like home no matter where I may roam. Crescent Bay is more than just another pretty beach - it's a spectacular natural wonder that etches itself indelibly onto your soul.
