Way back in February I shared a set of photos from one of my favorite locals called Crescent Bay (Laguna Beach, CA). Today I am revisiting the site with a few photos taken while a Pacific storm was slowly encroaching onto the normally dry and peaceful oceanfront hideaway. There is a popular tune that states that it never rains in Southern California. That is of course false. In the month of June for example there is a little weather phenomena that we locals refer to as 'June Gloom' in which the early summer mornings are generally cool and drizzly. Likewise, the months of January and February can be rather damp. These aren't the only times that you can get precipitation in the Southland, however, these pics were taken in early May.
In these pics the rocks just off the bay look majestic as the storm fueled waves crash all around them. The normally ever present sealions have abandoned the rocks for a safer local leaving only a group of pelicans that are either oblivious or simply don't care about the approaching storm.
As I mentioned previously, Crescent Bay is one of those true hidden gems that only Orange County locals know anything about.
