Rafting in Dinosaur National Monument Floating down the Green River, the cold water is mostly clear. But in the sunlight, the surface can give off a green hue. High, reddish-brown sandstone walls tower over you. As you float down the river, beautiful red sandstone gives way to limestone and then sandstone again.  At about 1:30 in the morning Disney sent out the first trailer for their live-action remake of Snow White. I was surprised to open up my email and find the The Mouse Factory had deemed me worthy of receiving one of those announcements. I immediately gave the clip a look and I honestly felt conflicted by what I saw.

 This morning I came across a great interview with Penn State Professor of History and Bioethics Greg Eghigian about his research into the history of reported UFO sightings around the world. Eghigian has always been fascinated with the subject, and after being challenged by a colleague and spending a summer at home due to illness, he began to research historical accounts. The bulk of that research became the basis for his book, "After The Flying Saucers Came."

 An old abandoned truck sits rusting away in the weeds in Ferriday. Over the past few months I have been taking a ton of photographs as I travel all over Louisiana. I have been wanting to share these images for some time, but I just couldn't make up my mind on just which ones I wanted to do individual posts about. As I perused all the images that I amassed it became clear that it would be way to time consuming to share them this way. Instead I took the time to weed through them and pick out the ones that really spoke to me and conveyed what I believe to be the essence of what summertime here in Louisiana really looks like.

 It's been way too long since we last checked in with actress Sarah French. Back in the day I used to feature Sarah quite a bit on my Monster Island News blog. I have been following her career ever since and I have been wanting to do a feature on her for some time. Sarah has always been a very active actress and model. At present she has several films slated to released this year including Brute 76, Violence on Demand, Garden of Eden, and Isla Monstro.
