I spent a couple of days last week walking around the Fort Buhlow Recreation Area here in Pineville, Louisiana. It is truly one of the hidden gems in the central part of the state. The park is rather huge, spanning 100 acres nestled between Lake Buhlow and the Red River. The park features a championship caliber Disc Golf Course, 2 and 3 mile hiking trails, two playgrounds, numerous picnic areas and a boat launch on the river. It is the perfect place to spend an afternoon with the family.

 In my buildup to May the 4th, I have a real treat in store for you! Have you ever wondered what Star Wars could have been like if it was made in the 1950s? Well thanks to a YouTube channel called Abandoned Films , that features retro style movie trailers for films like Blade Runner, Transformers and Alien, we can get to catch a glimpse of what that may have looked like. 

 In the hours prior to the start of the 2024 NFL Draft a rumor began circulating that the Los Angeles Rams were actively working the phones trying to hammer out a trade to acquire a top 10 pick. Sources had stated that there was a player slated to go early in the draft that Rams coach Sean McVay was absolutely in love with. Those sources believed that the player in question was an offensive player, but was not supposed to be one of the top rated quarterback prospects. Many believed that the player the Rams were targeting may have been Washington receiver Rome Odunze, whom the team had met with in person during the scouting combine.

  Terri and I have just returned from viewing a wonderful set of prints by the master of modern abstract art Pablo Picasso at the Alexandria Museum of Art. I have to admit that it was a real thrill to be able to view the works of such a renowned and influential artist up close. 

 In this case, it's kind of cool and really, really weird all at the same time Last week a strange little video entitled Star Wars 1923 appeared in my Facebook feed. Being a big Star Wars I decided to give it a look. A mere two minutes later I found myself staring blankly at my screen wondering just what in the heck I had just witnessed.  My eyes had just been subjected to a series of fast moving images of some sort of Star Wars/Silent Movie mashup that is nothing short of a mind-bender.

 This morning I was going through some old photographs of a trip that Terri and I took to Big Bear Lake. On that day we enjoyed a picknick lunch next to the water and spent some time hiking around the area.  As you well know, I rarely go on any kind of excursion without my trusty camera on my side and on that day I took several dozen images. One of my favorites has always been the one featured above. The image features tree lined trail that somewhat resembles a tunnel with light at the end. I always thought that the scene was very spiritual, so I decided to go in search of a Bible verse that matched the essence of what I photographed that day.
